3D Work
As of 08.03.2020, I am in the process of revising my website. Currently debugging some HTML/CSS formatting issues; these should be fixed by the 10th.
PUP Cabin: Red Riding’s Home
PUP Cabin: Red Riding's Home is my take on the PUP Cabin challenge. I shaded and lit this set throughout the month of June 2019, practicing using Substance Painter for textures and developing a better understanding of RenderMan shaders. I decided the theme of this piece based on my love for fairytales and the color red. I wanted to create a setting that feels warm and cozy - the kind of cabin that one would raise their fairytale children in.
Programs: Maya (2018), Substance Painter, Renderman 22, Nuke.
Night Market
Night Market is a 3D animated short that tells the story of immigration, a chance encounter, and the importance of a very ordinary mooncake. In 2019, it received the World Impact Award from the Grizzly Film and Arts Festival.
This short was completed in the 2018-2019 academic year by 12 students as part of the CNM 190: Advanced Digital Animation course. As the director, I oversaw the artistic integrity and development of the story and film. I contributed to all parts of the animation pipeline, most notably to the short’s shading, texturing, and compositing.
Programs: Maya (2018), zBrush, Substance Painter, Renderman 22, Nuke.
Dragon Fight
Dusk Island is a first-person action game centered around an epic, thrilling battle against an epic dragon. It was created in the Fall 2019 semester as part of Game Design DeCal. I sculpted, modeled, UV’d, textured, rigged, and animated the player character and dragon boss. The game can be downloaded here.
During the project, I ran into a wrist injury that prevented me from hitting some of our team’s stretch goals.
Programs: Maya (2018), zBrush, Unity (2019.1.2f1).
Powered Up
Powered Up is a 3D animated short film produced by the UCBUGG: 3D Modeling and Animation DeCal facilitators in Fall 2019. I shaded many of the environment assets in the video game world, including mushrooms, lavender fields, various flowers, and fallen tree trunk. I was inspired to hand paint textures in a video game style similar to League of Legends or various MMORPGs.
During the project, I ran into a wrist injury that prevented me from further contributing to the short.
Programs: Maya (2018), Substance Painter, Renderman 22.
